Company Description
Mill on the Brue Outdoor Activity Centre has been operating for 27 years. It is a not for profit organisation based on a farmhouse and converted barns in stunning Somerset countryside with its own woods, fields and river. Open all year, we are an hour from Bristol and Bath, and two hours from London, and there is a railway station both in Bruton and 4 miles away.
There are so many activities, groups some times find it difficult to choose! Teambuilding, outdoor pursuits, environmental or just downright fun! The days are packed, and the programme is written with the group’s aim in mind. Management Training courses, teambuilding, hen and reunion parties on site, or off site if more extreme climbing, canoeing or caving are required.
There is mainly bunkbedded accommodation in two buildings, centrally heated and carpeted throughout, plus four single and double rooms two with ensuite facilities. Also a superb dining facility and licensed bar, and smaller, comfortable meeting rooms and barns for wet weather activities.
Mill on the Brue is well known for its environmental ethos, practiced for many years, with rainwater harvesting, ground heat source pump, recycled tire slates, insulation, solar hot water and even a solar drying room! There are recycling points everywhere.
Also an excellent reputation for meals – our own organic vegetables and some fruit, and all ingredients sourced locally where possible. The meals are delicious, varied and plentiful and coffee, tea and cakes are also included.
