Get ready for a prehistoric adventure of epic proportions at Eden this half-term. In association with Early Man, the major new film release from Nick Park and Aardman.
Bring your tribe to Eden for intrepid adventures and behind-the-scenes fun based on the latest adventure by the creators of Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit.
The film, starring Tom Hiddleston, Eddie Redmayne, Maisie Williams, Timothy Spall and Richard Ayoade, is the first feature directed by the four-time Oscar-winner Nick Park since 2005’s Wallace & Gromit adventure The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of courageous caveman hero Dug and his best friend Hognob as they unite his tribe against a mighty enemy to save their home.
What we've got planned for half-term
* Schnoolkel Quest in our Rainforest Biome
Grab your map and go on an exciting quest to find your own Schnoolkel coin – the currency used in the film. You’ll journey along a timeline of civilizations, learning about their discoveries and what gifts they passed on to the next generation. Work together as a team to learn about each civilisation, where they lived, how they adapted to changing environments and finally, figure out what to take from them on your journey through time.
* The Cave
Discover your inner cave dweller inside our incredible Cave. Enter through the stone tunnel and get stuck into drawing your own cave art onto the walls.
Elsewhere inside the Cave, you’ll discover the tricks of the trade of how the film was made, and watch some behind-the-scenes footage and film clips.
You’ll find out all about Hognob, Dug's best friend in the film, including how the character was developed, designed and made. And then try your hand at making your own Hognob in our model making activity. We’ll encourage you to photograph you Hognob creations in front of the film scenery images inside the Cave.
* The Dig
Within another cave, glistening with bronze nuggets, you’ll be able to get involved in an archaeological dig, using brushes to uncover replica tools and artifacts from the Stone Age.
* Early Man Bushcraft
Head for the fire pit in our Orchard and learn the skills that stone age people needed to survive.
