Uplands Arts presents
Gilbert & Sullivan’s
Iolanthe
100 years ago, women first were able to vote. What is less well-known is their influence on Parliament some years before that – and especially on the House of Lords, where life was never the same again. After last year’s highly popular version of “The Sorcerer” Swansea’s own Uplands Arts returns with a riotous night of music, song, dance and the sort of political shenanigans that make Brexit look like a vicarage tea party.
With full orchestra once more under the baton of Roger Hart, join us to find out what happens when a motley band of supernatural women stick their wands in, peers are suddenly required to demonstrate intelligence and a young man finds out that’s it’s difficult to be bi-racial when one of those races isn’t really human.
Tickets available from Bernadette Powell on 01792 421261 or Society members or at Taliesin box office on 01792 602060
