Exciting new British band ATLAS, led by pianist Rebecca Nash, bring a fresh sound to the UK music scene. Firmly rooted within the jazz context, they cross into other sound-worlds, blending synthprov, driving beats, and improvisation with electronic elements and textural soundscapes.
For this special performance, ATLAS are proud to present a new suite for Percussion and Electronics, which has been commissioned for the festival featuring all band members. ATLAS will also be previewing material from their forthcoming album Peaceful King due to be released in spring 2019 on Stoney Lane Records.
The line-up for this performance includes: Nick Malcolm (tpt), Tom Seminar Ford (gtr), Will Harris (bass), and Matt Fisher (drums/perc) as well as some special guests New York saxophonist John O Gallagher, and singer/songwriter Sara Colman.
Pianist, bandleader, and composer Rebecca Nash is creating a name for herself in the UK as one of leading musicians of her generation, currently performing with ATLAS, Entropi, Paradox Ensemble, and singer/songwriter Sara Colman. She was also recently selected by Serious to be one of their Take Five Artists.
