Burns Night Supper at Newcastle College

The Byte Night North East Board is delighted to bring you our second annual Burns Night Supper on Thursday 24^th January at Newcastle College.

Burns Night is a celebration of the life and enduring legacy of the Scottish poet Robert Burns. While it was organised by his close friends and family after he died, it is now a nationally recognised memorial with traditional Scottish fare, music and renditions of Burns’ poetry.

On the night, you’ll be treated to a three course dinner and drinks, plus the chance to enjoy classic Scottish traditions including address to the haggis and the toasting to the lasses and the laddies – with musical accompaniment from Houghton le Spring Pipe band’s Pipe Major and of course a few drams of whiskey.

Money raised will go to Action for Children. From the moment they are born, until they are in their twenties, Action for Children supports children, families and young people by doing what’s right, what’s needed and what works. They run 550 services nationally and last year helped over 301,000 young people and their families. A huge part of what they do is supporting young people facing homelessness, their flagship event Byte Night raises money for just that.
