This is the first in a series of courses designed to break down mental barriers that stop you from writing and advance your creative writing skills.

This course offers the opportunity to learn:

New poetic techniques and how to apply them.

Fresh approaches to form, style and editing.

What makes poetry by renowned poets so successful.

How to engage with the senses, the body and the natural worldin order to write powerful poetry that resonates with readers.

Using a combination of meditation and writing exercises to stimulate your creativity, you will be offered the opportunity to write poetry each week, receiving constructive feedback from both peers and tutor in a supportive environment with the aim of developing your creative practice and poetic voice.

Suitable for: Adults of mixed abilities who already write for themselves, on a blog or with the hopes of publishing/entering competitions.

Venue: The Hamblin Centre library

Course Cost: £140. A deposit of £70 reserves a place. What you need to bring: A notebook, pen and lots of enthusiasm!

Lottie is a freelance writer who specialises in writing poetry and short stories. She graduated with a First Class Masters in Creative Writing from The University of Brighton, where she was tutored by award winning poet John McCullough.

She has been Creative Writer in Residence at spiritual and educational charity The Hamblin Centre since November 2017 and writes monthly blogs for their website www.hamblincentre.org.

She was recently recognised as a highly-commended writer by The British Council and invited to Munich to take part in writing workshops with award-winning poets Nancy Campbell and Helen Mort.
