Festival of Junina –
Celebrate Festa Junina or the June Festival, a Catholic tradition introduced to Brazil during the country’s colonization by Portugal. It’s events are based on the European Midsummer festivities, which celebrate the harvest and the saints, mainly Saint Anthony, Saint John the Baptist and Saint Peter.
Come and listen to stories followed by craft activities. Girls, wear your country themed outfit ; cotton gowns and puffed up skirts with flowered patterns, frills and ribbons. Men can wear checked flannel shirts and jeans, straw hats and fake moustaches!
All ages welcome. 3.00pm – 4.00pm for all ages
