Rob has held an annual solo show at the RBSA Gallery for 20 years! His energetic paintings are completed on location throughout the UK and Europe using ingenious self-made equipment, such as his famous studio-van.
This intriguing exhibition will chart the significant artistic milestones and themes Rob has explored from 1962-2019 - A must-see for loyal fans and new fans alike!
Robert is known nationally and internationally for his adventurous lifestyle, the tenacity with which he adheres to his commitment to ‘Direct Response’ (painting on location) and his Spartan lifestyle when traveling around Europe. He always works and lives in his famous ‘mobile studio’ van. He was elected as an associate of the RBSA in 1997 and as a member in 1999. Robert’s primary medium is painting. The range of Robert’s subject matter is vast, from his native Black Country to the concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau, the battlefields and tunnels of the First World War, the Alps, the Spanish Sierras and the pastoral landscapes of Northern France. He has several feature exhibitions available for hire to municipal and national galleries, particularly collections of landscape work featuring The Black Country, Battlefields sites of the First and Second World Wars. He has been featured many times on British and French National Television.
