The Bob Champion Cancer Trust Charity Raceday at Plumpton Racecourse
Monday 21 October 2019
Join us for the first edition of the the Bob Champion Cancer Trust Raceday. A day to raise some money in aid for a brilliant cause. Bob Champion MBE was diagnosed with Testicular cancer in 1979, and given 8 months to live, but just 2 years later he rode Aldanti to win the Grand National. After ‘racing’s greatest fairy-tale’ the trust was set up and has since raised over £15m to combat cancer.
The Bob Champion Cancer Trust supports and raises funds for the Bob Champion Cancer Research Laboratory. This forms part of the largest male dedicated research facility in Europe, situated at the Institute of Cancer Research in Sutton, Surrey and for the research team at the Bob Champion Research and Education Building at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, Norfolk.
