Talk and 1-2-1 Tutorials with Olivia Swinscoe NWA

A must-have session for all artists and makers looking to improve their ability to light and photograph their work for print and online use.

A 90-minute informative talk followed by optional 1-2-1 sessions for artists working in any medium.

The talk will provide attendees with helpful tips on lighting, photographing and post-processing images of both 2D and 3D work. The one-to-one sessions will allow participants to put the techniques shared into practice and identify the best lighting setup and camera settings or post-processing techniques for the consistent production of high-quality images of your work.

Suitable for all abilities.

*Olivia will have her own equipment on-hand, but we encourage attendees to bring the kit they have so they can apply the skills learnt back at home.

Booking essential

To book please contact the Gallery on 0121 236 4353. Payment can be made in cash or by card or cheque. Cheques are to be made payable to RBSA.

Places are limited. Allocation will take place on a first come first served basis, subject to receipt of full non-transferable and non-refundable payment.

The RBSA Gallery reserves the right to withdraw the course. In this eventuality, you will be notified and fully refunded.

When booking a 1-2-1 session, please let gallery staff know the following:

+ Which time slot you would like.

+ What equipment you will bring (e.g. your phone, an i-pad, a laptop, a camera, etc.)

+ What artwork you will bring (e.g. a painting in a frame, a photo in a glazed frame, a piece of pottery, etc.)

+ Chose a focus for your session. Either (a) Lighting and photographing work, or (b) Post-processing images.

Before attending, please ensure that you...

+ Fully charge your equipment.

+ Bring power cables and chargers for your equipment.

+ Update your devices so they won't have a re-start or require updating during the session.

+ Bring connecting cables and/or relevant memory cards for connecting and transferring files between your devices (e.g. if working with a digital camera and a laptop, bring their USB cables, SD cards, etc. )
