Once in a while a band comes along that makes you stop, look and listen....
Since forming in 2009, Crow Black Chicken have built up a strong underground following throughout Ireland, the US, and Europe with multiple well received tours and one off gigs. They have supported ZZ Top at The Marquee in Cork, played Glastonbury twice and when released, “Deep South” was ranked in the top 5 blues albums by Classic Rock Blues Magazine...
The affable trio of Christy O Hanlon (Vocals, Guitar), Stephen McGrath (Bass) and Gev Barrett (Drums, Backing vocals) combine elements of folk, hard rock and blues of bands like Gov't Mule, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin to create their own distinct, infectious sound
“Maybe it’s the luck of the Irish or maybe it’s these boys’ immense talent, but they’ve managed to find a sound that’s all their own. In a world of cliché blues songs, these lads take what they want and leave the rest far behind.”
Blues Rock Review
“CBC could save rock and roll” Alvin Youngblood Hart
On Saturday 25th January they were voted the “best act” by the audience of the Introducing Stage at Giants Of Rock in Minehead and as a result of this, they will be returning in 2021 for an appearance on a main stage.....a real bonus for next year's line-up, that's for sure!
