Easter Trail at Hestercombe: Coplestone and the Grand Tour

Paris! Venice! Switzerland! Greece! Visit them all on our fantastic Easter Trail: Coplestone and the Grand Tour.

Venture round the springtime gardens at Hestercombe visiting stop-offs inspired by locations visited by the Georgians on their European ‘Grand Tour’, and try to find Coplestone in a where’s Wally-style challenge.

Each station will give fun and interesting facts about how Easter is celebrated at each location.

On return of the ‘Grand Tour’ of Hestercombe, you will receive a chocolate souvenir treat.

£2.50 per child, plus normal admission to Hestercombe Gardens.

Family Craft Days: Wednesday 8th & 15th April, 10am – 3pm

Head to the Apple Loft to get creative!

17th Century Mill Day: Thursday 9th April, 11am – 1pm

Meet our miller and watch them making flour while you learn about traditional milling process using turbine and waterwheel. See the wheel turning and experience the sounds and smells that would have filled the Mill Room all those years ago.

Model Boating on the Mill Pond: Friday 10th & 17th April, 10am – 4pm

We’ll be sailing some beautiful model boats on the Mill Pond and they’ll be some small radio-controlled ones for you to have a go with too. No need to book – just come on down to the Pear Pond when you arrive at Hestercombe.
