Sign up with Blind Veterans UK to take part in the Cardiff Half Marathon - not only the largest road race in Wales but also the second-largest in the UK.
This course encompasses some of Cardiff’s most iconic landmarks. The race starts outside Cardiff Castle with runners then heading down past Cardiff City Stadium on the way to Penarth, taking in the glorious Penarth Marina before crossing the barrage and heading to Cardiff Bay. Runners run right through the heart of the bay taking in the Norwegian Church and Wales Millennium Centre.
The predominately flat and fast course makes the Cardiff Half Marathon ideal for beginners and elites alike. Since its establishment in 2003, the course’s reputation has grown within the running world. In March 2016 it played host to the IAAF/Cardiff University World Half Marathon Championships, meaning participants will literally get the opportunity to run in the footsteps of Britain’s Mo Farah and Kenya’s Geoffrey Kamworor.
The Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon was awarded an IAAF Bronze Label in the same year. The Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon is proud to be a member of AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races), featuring as part of a long list of must-do international distance running events.
