Christmas Sounds Amazing at Winchester Science Centre

Santa will swap his big red coat for a lab coat this festive season! On
weekends and school holidays from 5 to 24 December, the jolly man himself will
make a special appearance in the brand new free live science show, Christmas
Sounds Amazing. Together with the Science Centre Inspirers, he'll bring to
life the sounds of Christmas like you've never heard them before!

Alongside seeing Santa turn scientist, there'll be more seasonal fun in
Bio:Space and the Planetarium. The whole family can get involved in
winter-themed activities in Bio:Space, a new indoor/outdoor experimentation
zone. And finish off the Christmas experience with one of two festive
Planetarium shows.  

The fun doesn’t stop when the presents are open. Santa may be taking a
well-earned break, but from 27 December to 4 January the Inspirers are back!
They'll delve into the science behind the sounds in the hugely popular free
live show, Sounds Like Science. The show comes to life through fun
demos, exciting audience participation and, of course, a bit of fire!

And don't miss an exhilarating adventure through the Science Centre’s brand
new sound and hearing exhibition. Venture inside an enormous 10m long guitar
and explore the inner workings of a giant ear. Marvel at the wonder of
acoustics inside a sonic rocket and learn British Sign Language. Make sounds in
the huge echo tubes and rescue Humphrey the Humpback Whale. Plus so much more!
