The West End’s newest chamber music platform, The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series continues in 2022 with five stunning candlelit concerts exploring some of the most romantic chamber music ever written.

Featuring

Steve Dummer (clarinet)
Susan Parkes (Soprano)
Pavlos Carvalho (cello)
Warren Mailley-Smith (piano)

Programme

Beethoven - Clarinet Trio Op.11 in B flat
Schubert - Shepherd on the Rocks
Rota - Clarinet Trio
Brahms Clarinet Trio in A minor Op.114

The popular Piccadilly Chamber Music Series is delighted to present five candlelit concerts from January to July 2022 at St James’ Piccadilly, exploring the chamber music of Johannes Brahms alongside music of other great romantic composers who influenced this towering genius, or who were influenced by Brahms himself.

The third concert of the series explores four glorious works featuring the Clarinet. These works contrast Beethoven and Brahms' different treatment of this melodious instrument.  The rich timbre of this special combination of instruments is further exploited to great effect in Rota’s Clarinet Trio, whilst the clarinet takes flight with the soprano voice in Schubert’s ravishing Shepherd on the rocks.
The charismatic and esteemed clarinettist, Steve Dummer is joined by stunning international soprano Susan Parkes and the brilliant cellist, Pavlos Carvalho along with concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith.

Set in the heart of London’s West End, The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series provides an exciting new platform for some of the UK’s most outstanding musicians and a new opportunity for audiences to hear some of the world’s greatest chamber music masterpieces performed in an inspiring setting.     Each concert showcases some of the UK’s greatest musicians in displays of enormous virtuosity and sublime calmness.
