Arts Award Explore at West Berkshire Museum

Become an Arts Award explorer this summer! As an explorer, your child will take part in arts and crafts and find out more about West Berkshire Museum and history as they complete their Arts Award Explore. This programme is aimed at 7-12 year olds, and is a combination of led workshops and a self-led project.

£25 per child. To book, please come to the museum reception from 28 May 2022 and collect an introduction pack.

The fee covers the cost of a log book, craft materials, a place on one Messy Museum Morning session of your choice (subject to availability and it must be booked in advance with the Learning and Participation Officer, email address below), external moderation (by Trinity College, London) and a certificate (subject to successful completion).

An Arts Award explorer is required to attend two led craft and activity workshops on the morning of Thurs 28 July and the afternoon of Fri 29 July, to help to complete their log book. They will also need to attend a led workshop to create a pop-up exhibition of their art and craft work on the afternoon of Fri 29 August.

Everything they do must be recorded in their log book which, when complete, needs to be handed in at the museum reception. The deadline for this is Saturday 24 September.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
