Pack a picnic and pull up a chair for two joyous open-air Shakespearean comedies with a vintage setting: a neon-drenched 80s-set A Midsummer Night's Dream, and a sunny 50s seaside Much Ado About Nothing
With an ensemble cast of young local talent, both plays promise to be fun, funny, and full of energy. Featuring striking miners, feuding fairies, lovestruck yuppies and some iconic 80s tunes, Time and Again's A Midsummer Night’s Dream sets the Bard’s hilarious comedy of magic, mayhem and mistaken identities against the brash and bleak backdrop of Thatcher’s Britain, a truly electric Dream that’s the perfect accompaniment to a champagne picnic. Much Ado About Nothing, meanwhile, will be transporting audiences to the 1950s heyday of the Great British seaside and the Messina Holiday Camp, where misunderstandings and mischief wreak havoc among the holidaymakers, and saucy sailor Benedick just can’t stop bickering with bombshell Beatrice; the perfect play to enjoy with an ice cream on a sunny Summer afternoon.
A Midsummer Night's Dream will play on Thursday 16th and Sunday 19th June at 7pm, and a Sunday matinee at 1pm. Much Ado About Nothing will play on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June at 7pm, with a Saturday matinee at 1pm. Run time 2 hours, with a 20 minute interval.
Tickets £10 for adults and £5 for children, bring your own chair or a blanket (and feel free to bring a picnic too)!
