Walk for Parkinson's Oxford

Join us with your family, friends and four legged companions to help support everyone affected by Parkinson's.

Join us for our ninth sponsored Walk for Parkinson’s - Oxford. Experience the Radcliffe Camera in its full glory, marvel in the wonderful architecture of the Bodleian Library and the Sheldonian Theatre, spot hidden Colleges, walk under the famous Bridge of Sighs and stroll across the peaceful Oxford University Parks.

Dogs: Dogs are more than welcome on the walk; please keep them on short leads throughout.

Accessibility: Only the 1.5 and 4.5 mile route is suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Whilst a lot of the walk will be on pavements or footpaths, some parts could be uneven or muddy so we would advise wearing suitable waterproof footwear!

Toilets: Toilets are available at the start/finish point and public toilets are available on the routes.

Car park: Free parking is available in the Cherwell School North Site car parks.

Refreshments: Please ensure you bring a drink and snack/light lunch with you. There will be a light refreshment point on the 8 mile route only, at approximately the halfway point.

Walk packs: Your walk T-shirt and fundraising pack will be sent soon after your registration and your number and on the day information will be sent the week prior to the walk.

Registration: Please note online registration closes just over a week prior to the event. On-the-day registration will be available but will be cash only and will cost £15 for adults and £7.50 for under 16s.

Minimum sponsorship: We suggest that walkers aim to raise at least £50. The sponsorship raised from the Walk for Parkinson’s – Oxford will go towards funding the research project Investigating the Waste Disposal System in Parkinson’s, taking place in the Pharmacology Department at the University of Oxford. This research project will be looking at fatty molecules called lipids, which play an important role in keeping the brain working properly, to try to identify what type of lipids are involved in Parkinson’s.
