National Space Centre, Exploration Drive, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE4 5NS
Sat, 25 May 2019 - Sun, 02 June 2019
10:00 - 17:00
Join us for our Apollo packed May Half Term as we discover just how Charlie Brown and Snoopy nearly landed on the Moon.
This dress rehearsal for a Moon landing brought the Apollo lunar module to 8.4 nautical miles from the lunar surface, at the point where powered descent would begin on the actual landing.
Its success enabled the first landing to be attempted on the Apollo 11 mission two months later.
Come and join us to unearth the mysteries of the Moon’s geology and its history. Can you find our very own moon rock from the Apollo 17 mission somewhere in the galleries of the National Space Centre?
Fancy a relaxing afternoon of gazing off at the moon? Become a Lunar artist and draw a portrait of the moon to take home.
From faecal bags to microgravity sneezes, space is a gross place! Join us to find out about the more “biological” aspects of the Apollo program, as we delve into the grotty side of space!
