Whether you’re hoping to use the skills yourself or to better enable the directing of others, this fashion film and content creation course is a great place to start to grow your portfolio.

Covering researching, planning and shooting, the course combines all of the basic techniques required to start your career in fashion film and content creation.

Over 2 days at a private manor location location, you will learn about the theory and business aspect of the industry, participating in discussions and practical workshops in a friendly and collaborative studio space. You’ll leave with an understanding of the principles and practicalities of fashion film-making and the basic techniques to create amazing fashion film content.

The course covers:

·An introduction to fashion film and moving image

·An introduction to the business of the fashion industry and how to enter the industry

·Pre-production: ideas, workflows, storyboarding and production planning

·Production roles: who does what on a film set and why

·Fashion film shoot: learning about equipment and shooting

·Collaborative crew-work and creative team

·Camera, lighting and sound 

·Model casting, bookings and agencies

·Location scouting and dealing with location agencies

·Shooting models in a studio environment with tips on how to achieve the best image

·How to find a job in the industry and what jobs exist for a fashion film maker or content creator

·Speed networking

Course Breakdown

 DAY 1

 Morning:

·An introduction to fashion film, moving image and content creation.

·An introduction to the business of the fashion industry and how to enter the industry.

·An introduction to fashion brands, art buyers, advertising agencies and how to reach out to clients.

·An introduction to shooting with a DSLR camera and using other equipment. 

·An introduction to lighting.

·Pre-production: ideas, workflows, storyboarding and production planning for your shoots.

Afternoon: (Shooting)

·Production roles: who does what on a film set and why

·Meeting models and creative team to produce a story

·Shoot models in beauty / fashion set up using various equipment and lighting set ups to best showcase the content

·Collaborative crew-work as well as single shooting

·Creating content for your portfolio

DAY 2

Morning and Afternoon (Full shoot day)

·Collaborative crew-work as well as single shooting.

·Meeting models and creative team to produce your group fashion story ideas.

·Shoot models in fashion studio set up using different equipment and lighting set ups to best showcase the subject.

·Collaborative crew-work as well as single shooting.

·How to find a job and what jobs exist for a fashion film maker or content creator

·Speed Networking

 Level:

For Beginners. You should have an interest in film and fashion and a desire to learn.

No previous experience is required, and all equipment is provided.

What equipment do I require for the course?

Pen and note pad. Students are welcome to bring in their own props for shoot day if required.

Over night stay:

Over night stay is available at the manor house for an additional charge.
