Say it with he?ART this February14th
To the strains of Lennon and McCartney’s classic 60’s debut single - LOVE ME DO - the ArtHouse in Eastbank Street, Southport, will be opening its doors to another of its much anticipated Valentine themed exhibitions at the end of January.
Often written off as a conspiracy of chocolatiers and florists, Valentine’s Day presents a unique opportunity to take a day from the routine of life to celebrate the loved ones in our lives – after all, according to Madonna, it's what “makes the world go around”.
So, if you are looking for an alternative to the proverbial stereotypical Valentine’s Day gift, then look no further than the display at the ArtHouse.
Now in its 7th year, LOVE ME DO offers a veritable smorgasbord of talent showcasing a wide variety of specialisms and techniques, all worked around the theme of Valentines.
February 14th will always be recognized as a day for romance and devotion and all the exhibiting artists speak from the heart. Their work is certainly guaranteed to provide a “whole lotta love” – courtesy of Led Zeppelin.
It will include interpretations using textiles, painting, ceramics, printmaking, collage and glass.
Bear in mind, this could be your best Valentine’s Day gift ever and always remember at the ArtHouse :-
“Roses are Red,
Violets are Blue,
Buying art can cost less,
Than a dinner for two.”
The LOVE ME DO exhibition (28th January – 15th February) is at SCA/ArtHouse, 65 Eastbank Street, Tues thro Fri 10.00 – 15.00 and Sat 11.00 – 16.00.
