World Fireworks Competition Blackpool

We're back with a bang in September! The event will gather together the crème de la crème of the world’s firework elite and promises a mouth-watering series of shows with jaw-dropping entertainment for all the family - a great opportunity for visitors to take an extended weekend break.

For 2021, the event will take place with revised dates and a new launch-pad over the beach in front of The Blackpool Tower.

Saturday 11 September: Russia
Saturday 25 September: Ireland
Saturday 9 October: Germany
Saturday 23 October: Celebratory display and winners announcement from Titanium Fireworks.

All displays subject to suitable weather conditions.

The event starts from 7.30pm, with the first fireworks firing from approximately 8:30pm*.

Please note that due to the popularity of the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool, there may be traffic delays arriving and leaving the event. Take extra time to arrive and we would recommend if travelling by car to park in the southern car parks and use the tramway to travel to the event. Alternative public transport via the rail systems and buses are also recommended.

Parking

Free parking will be available at Blackpool Airport from 14:00 - 22:30 on Saturday 25 September. The car park will be manned, lit and secure, and there will be a disabled parking area for blue badge holders. If you are travelling to Blackpool via the M55, there will be a sign posted at the slip road to direct you to the car park. There will also be a VMS signs on Squires Gate Lane and the sand dunes. Once you have parked, please make your own way to the nearest bus stops on Squires Gate Lane or Squires Gate tram stop, approximately a 10-minute walk from the car park.
