Colour Systems explores how colour can be organised, disrupted and reimagined through geometry, repetition and collage. Working between hand-cut paper compositions and digitally constructed prints, Leigh Bagley uses the circle as a tool for investigating transparency, overlap, proportion and optical relationships. Drawing on modernist design and the Bauhaus tradition, the works explore how colour and abstract form create rhythm, balance and movement, inviting viewers to experience colour as something constructed, dynamic and continually reconfigured.
Leigh Bagley is a textile and pattern designer known for his bold use of colour, geometric form and contemporary abstraction. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, London (2000), his practice spans limited-edition prints, wallpaper, textiles and large-scale commissions for interiors. Since establishing his studio in 2012, he has collaborated internationally with clients including Newmor Wallcoverings and Robin Sprong, and created 21 Artwalls for NHS Forth Valley’s Bellfield Centre in Stirling. Alongside his studio practice, Leigh lectures at the Glasgow School of Art and continues to develop commissions and collaborations across commercial, domestic and public spaces.
