Help For Heroes Adaptive Surf Championships

It’s coming to Surf Snowdonia… another world-first which will bring together some of the UK’s most impressive surf athletes to take part in a completely unique competition.

This is going to be a day to remember: take the best adaptive surf athletes from the UK’s Army, Navy and RAF, give them guaranteed waves for a day, an appreciative crowd and a competition to win and you know it’s going to be a good’un!

All the action will take place right here on our world-first inland lagoon surrounded by the beautiful mountains and forests of Snowdonia.

The Help for Heroes Adaptive Surf Championship is happening on Saturday 23rd September and it is a completely FREE OF CHARGE family event.

There will be plenty of activity off the water too, with a children’s assault course for free of charge and as well as all the usual Surf Snowdonia fun including crash & splash, skate, soft play as well as our Surf Side Deli, bars and on site glamping.

We are over the moon to be hosting this amazing event. We’ve worked closely with Help for Heroes for more than a year now and regularly sponsor visits from former service men and women who use surf therapy to help them recover from mental and physical challenges and injuries.

We’ve seen some of these amazing men and women go on to represent the UK at the Invictus Games and World Adaptive Surf Championships, but what has impacted us – and impressed us – the most is seeing the transformative effect that surfing has had on the lives of so many of these heroes. They are a great testament to the sport.
