Little Bentley Park Polo Club is a fun, friendly low goal polo club. This means we cater for novice level and intermediate level players. We believe anyone can play polo – you just need to bring your enthusiasm and borrow a pony and a mallet. It’s addictive!
We became provisionally affiliated with the sport’s governing body, The Hurlingham Polo Association, in 2007.
We have four unboarded polo pitches in a beautiful farmland setting in Essex, bordered by ancient woodlands. It’s easy to find us – but most clients seem to find it’s much harder to leave!
Try Polo! Beginners Weekends
A chance to try the Sport of Kings and play your first chukka!
These special weekends are suitable for riders and non-riders to taste the excitement of polo.
Lessons in polo riding and ball hitting on Saturday culminate in learning team tactics and playing chukkas on Sunday on our well-schooled ponies. Individual tuition in a relaxed, fun setting!
Clients only need to bring comfortable clothing, suitable riding hat and suitable riding boots or equivalent (no trainers). We can provide a list of accommodation nearby.
Even if you’ve never sat on a horse, you can learn to play polo. We can teach complete beginners or help develop more experienced players in a relaxed, beautiful setting.
We have a fantastic indoor polo “cage” where we can start your lesson on a wooden horse before progressing to “stick and balling” on a pony suitable for your level of polo.
Individual and group lessons are available – just ring the polo office to book a time. Or try one of our Beginner’s Weekend or Improver’s Weekends.
