Creative Writing Workshop

Do you love to write? Are you inspired by nature in all her glorious seasons? Join writer Vicky Holmes for a Creative Writing Workshop where you can explore the beautiful gardens at Hestercombe to find inspiration for all kinds of writing, from short stories to poetry.

Spend time rambling through the Hestercombe grounds, notebooks in hand, before heading indoors to put your observations down in words. Vicky will talk to you about using nature in literature, and then work with you one-to-one as you tackle your individual pieces.

The aim of the day is for everyone to take home one piece of writing, as well as a host of new technical and observation skills. The skills that will allow your writing and inner author to develop throughout the day and forevermore!

The workshop will conclude with a Q&A from Vicky Holmes, international bestselling author (creator of Warrior Cats, Rainbow Magic, Animal Ark, Heartland and Chestnut Hill). Learn about her own writing and editorial career and gain advice on how to find an agent, approach publishers, and avoid the dreaded slush pile.
