Finding Inspiration in the Local Environment
This printmaking course is divided into three parts. On the first day, you will gather information – using our drawings to make sense of what we see, interpreting the surroundings with various drawing methods, as well as collecting some objects to use on the prints. On the second day, we'll create the plates and seal them ready for printing on the third day. The third day will be all about printing and you'll leave with a selection of single and multi-plate prints inspired by the workshop location.
Isabel Carmona is a local artist known for her sketches and watercolour paintings as well as her printmaking abilities. During 2021 she has been developing her collagraph printmaking techniques that she is happy to share with you in these three workshops.
The three workshops cost £75 (in total) and all the materials are included, although we do ask you to bring a small folding chair or stool as the first workshop will mainly take place outside, within a short walking distance of West Berkshire Museum.
