The Spring Exhibition 2026 at Ironbridge Fine Arts presents a vibrant selection of contemporary and fine printmaking, painting, and mixed-media practices. This year’s exhibition brings together seven exceptional artists, each exploring the intersection of observation, material, and imagination through unique approaches to landscape, structure, and process.
Linda Barlow ARBS transforms lived experiences of remote and “edge” landscapes—such as Iceland, Shetland, and the west coast of Ireland—into abstract, painterly compositions. Evolving from a background in textile practice, her work captures both the emotive qualities and textures of the environments she encounters.
Jacqui Dodds engages with the layered complexity of human-built and natural environments. Using silkscreen, lino cut, and blind embossing, she distills her observations into works that balance form, light, and texture, revealing both the subtle and often overlooked elements of place.
Auste Skardžiukaite-Kabašinskiene brings meticulous observation and technical experimentation to intaglio printmaking. Her layered prints, informed by anatomical study and an acute engagement with natural rhythms, invite viewers to pause, reflect, and discover intricate relationships between form, memory, and perception.
Rob Leckey RBSA combines acrylics, inks, collage, and found materials in dynamic, textured compositions. His mixed-media approach balances spontaneity and structure, producing works that are rich in detail and narrative depth.
Rob Pountney presents watercolours tracing the Wessex landscape, capturing contours, light, and historical traces. His practice blends careful observation with atmosphere, producing landscapes that are both contemplative and deeply resonant.
Dave Gunning contributes steel-etched plates, drawings, and intaglio etchings, exemplifying technical mastery and a longstanding engagement with printmaking as both craft and artistic expression.
Jenny Gunning exhibits intaglio etchings, photogravure, and lino prints exploring texture, line, and tonal depth. Her work demonstrates both rigorous skill and a sensitivity to subtlety in print media, complementing the diversity of the exhibition.
Together, these artists present a spring showcase that celebrates the dialogue between materiality, process, and observation. Visitors are invited to explore works spanning the intimacy of detailed etching, the layered complexity of mixed media, and the emotive sweep of landscape painting, all unified by a shared commitment to technical excellence and creative inquiry.
