What happens when you get diagnosed with a personality disorder? Do you hide away and try to keep it a secret or do you write a show about it? Your friends and work colleagues already suspect something is not quite as it should be…. And, as an audience member, where do you fit in? Do you display one of the nine symptoms? You probably do. Then, what does that mean?
An immersive-autobiographical cabaret show in nine easy steps to the diagnosis and misunderstanding of a personality that is often referred to as ‘borderline’, interspersed with popular songs like Mad World, The Sound of Silence, Crazy and Losing My Mind. Expect audience participation, sing-alongs and well…everything but the norm.
By award-winning artist, Aletia Upstairs, who brought you Mata Hari, A Queer Love of Dix, and Songs My Lovers Didn’t Understand.
“Aletia Upstairs is a compelling figure. She sings a variety of songs with a torch song singer's intensity and no little skill.” – Gary Naylor (Broadway World)
“A strong performance that includes attractive and evocative singing.” **** – Gerald Berkowitz (Theatre Guide London)
“Aletia Upstairs, a spectacular performance artist …masterly construct…skilful intermediary.” ***** – James O’Brien (Edinburgh Festival.org)
