Simon Boyd’s colourful, expressive paintings explore landscapes that are recognisable yet otherworldly. Through energetic brushwork, abstract forms and unexpected colour, the works evoke atmosphere, memory and a sense of something just beyond perception.
Alongside the larger oil paintings, a series of intimate works on paper explores a quieter, more minimal language — hinting at something hidden beneath the surface.
Shown in the vibrant setting of Bonnington Café, Vauxhall, the exhibition brings contemporary painting into an informal and unexpected environment.
