LUSH FEST presents: FUN Figures & Comic Capers x Blue Room at Elizabeth Challinor

Inspired by Kayleigh’s gaggle of mischievous gingerbread people from her 2024 LUSH collaboration, Gingerbread Party, participants will learn to create a character full of life and ready to leap off the page. Create a mini comic book zine to storyboard your character’s next adventure and bring them to life with FUN modelling soap.

Blue Room artist Kayleigh Murray’s playful work often features characters who are dancing and having a good time. She hopes that people feel joyful and happy when they look at her drawings, with vibrant scenes that make you smile and giggle. Her gingerbread characters boogied their way across a LUSH knotwrap and gift box design in winter 2024.

The Bluecoat is the UK's first arts centre, a working home for artists for almost 100 years. A key part of the Bluecoat’s story for the past few decades has been the development of Blue Room, an inclusive arts programme supporting learning disabled and neurodivergent artists.

Since 2008, Blue Room artists have been meeting at the Bluecoat to explore the galleries and develop and share their own work. The project aims to break down barriers and highlight Blue Room artists' talent and creativity. Being part of Blue Room is often transformative for its members, empowering many to develop their creative practice while building lifelong friendships.
