Join David Temple and Hertfordshire Chorus in an Open Rehearsal of Elgar and Jonathan Dove
Elgar’s From the Bavarian Highlands sets words written by his wife Alice, inspired by walking holidays in the Alps. It reveals the composer’s lighter side, glowing with infectious warmth and the pleasures of the everyday. Jonathan Dove dedicated The Passing of the Year to the memory of his mother, setting seven texts that trace the shape of a human life through the turning of the seasons.
We are always looking for good singers of all ages and backgrounds, especially altos, tenors, and basses. Subject to passing a singer-friendly audition you could be singing this repertoire in our concert in St Albans Abbey on 17 October.
